Bus
There are several bus options for intercity travel in Ghana. STC is the government run bus agency and they are generally the most reliable. They cost more than a tro-tro, but take safety a bit more seriously and you will have your own seat (which you may or may not have in a tro-tro).
Tro-Tros
Ghana’s version of the African mini-bus. The cheapest transportation option as well as the least safe. Do not expect to be comfortable. That said, they always provide an entertaining and very social atmosphere.
“Fast Cars”
These are ford utility vans that are often air-conditioned and well-maintained. As the name implies, they drive fast. In fact, dangerously fast. They can be used for intercity travel. Average price is triple that of a tro-tro.
Dropping Taxis
Generally very cheap within cities. Make sure you negotiate and agree on a price before setting out.
Shared Taxis
Cheaper than dropping taxis, ride with other passengers, fixed price and routes.
