Bus
There are several bus options for intercity travel in Cote d’Ivoire. There is also bus service within Abidjan, but don’t expect a schedule that runs on time. Adjame is the main bus station and you will find buses as well as all manner of gbakas and shared taxis there.
Gbakas
Cote d’Ivoire’s version of the African mini-bus. The cheapest transportation option and also the least safe. Gbakas, it must said however, are generally more well maintained than minibuses in many of the surrounding countries (sotramas in Mali and tro-tros in Ghana for example). Do not expect to be comfortable, but do expect an entertaining and very social atmosphere.
Dropping Taxis
Significantly more expensive than shared taxis or gbakas, but still cheap when compared to Western standards. Make sure you negotiate and agree on a price before setting out.
Shared Taxis
Cheaper than dropping taxis, ride with other passengers, fixed price and routes.d
